Privacy Policy

We collect the following categories of information in order to provide and improve the Service:

• Account information. When you sign in with Discord, we receive your Discord user ID, username, avatar, and (where you have permitted it) your email address. We use this to create and secure your account.
• Health and nutrition data. The food entries, meals, macronutrient and calorie totals, body weight, goals, and similar information you choose to log. This information is provided voluntarily by you and is used to power the core features of the Service.
• Photos and descriptions you submit. If you upload a meal photo or text description for analysis, we send that content to our AI provider to estimate its nutritional content.
• Payment information. If you purchase a subscription, payment is processed by our payment processor (Stripe). We do not store your full card number; we receive only limited details such as subscription status and the last four digits of your card.
• Usage and gameplay data. XP, ranks, streaks, quests, party membership, and activity within the Service. Some of this — such as your username, avatar, level, and rank — may be displayed publicly on leaderboards and profile pages.
• Technical data. Information automatically collected when you use the Service, such as your IP address, device and browser type, and log data. We use a session cookie to keep you signed in.

• To provide, operate, and maintain the Service and your account.
• To estimate the nutritional content of foods you log, including via automated AI analysis of photos and descriptions you submit.
• To calculate progress, XP, ranks, streaks, leaderboards, and other gameplay features.
• To process payments and manage subscriptions.
• To communicate with you about your account, including support requests and important service notices.
• To monitor, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Service, and to comply with our legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:

• Service providers. We share information with third parties that perform services on our behalf, including Discord (authentication), Stripe (payment processing), Anthropic (AI-based food analysis), and Google Cloud (hosting and infrastructure). These providers are permitted to use your information only to perform services for us.
• Public features. Certain information, such as your username, avatar, level, rank, and party membership, is visible to other users through leaderboards and public profile pages.
• Legal reasons. We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Macros.gg, our users, or others.
• Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account or request deletion, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can manage much of your data directly within the app, or you can contact us at support@macros.gg to make a request. To request account deletion, email us at the same address and we will process your request.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

We are based in the United States and process and store information there. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
